Doris Shoemake's Obituary
Doris J. Shoemake (nee McCarthy), age 77, of North Ridgeville, passed away, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at her home. She was born in Ellisworth, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 2003 moving from Cleveland where she had lived for 56 years.
Mrs. Shoemake worked as an assembler for General Motors Coit Road Plant from 1948-1968.
She was a member of United Auto Workers Local #45. Survivors include her daughters, Marcia (Bob) Perkey of North Ridgeville, Marilyn (Roger) Sanson of Jamestown, Kentucky; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sister, Catherine V. Rafail of Willoughby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus N. Shoemake in 2003; sisters, Mary Derocco, Madolyn Druckenbrod, Anna Mae Minerd and parents, Patrick and Julia McCarthy.
Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Sr. Rita Costello, Chaplin for New Life Hospice will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, CHP Regional Foundation, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
