Donald Truitt's Obituary
Donald J. Truitt, age 66, of Elyria passed away Saturday April 24, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Brookville, PA. He had resided in Elyria the past 15 years after moving from North Ridgeville.
Mr. Truitt graduated from DuBois Business College in 1964.
An engineer for Ameritech, Cleveland for 30 years he retired in 1994. He was a member and past president of the Telephone Pioneers.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, Geocashing, playing computer games and bowling on Monday nights with the men's handicap league at Brunswick Lanes in North Ridgeville. He volunteered with the National MS Society, helping with the Pedal to the Point Event, running the last rest stop in Sandusky for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Diane (nee Montgomery), daughter Jennifer (Chris) Butcher of North Ridgeville, five grandchildren and his mother, Virginia Truitt.
He was preceded in death by his father, H. Donald Truitt this past January.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday in the Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. James McClaren, Pastor of Fields United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
