Donald L. Kern's Obituary
Donald L. Kern, age 90, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 17 years, moving from Naperville, Illinois where he resided for 27 years.
He was a graduate of Maple Heights High School.
Donald served in the US Navy for two years active duty and six years in the Reserves. He was stationed on the USS Saratoga for two years.
He worked for a judge as a Court Clerk in DuPage County, Illinois where he retired in 1999.
He was a member of Frist Unted Methodist Church in Elyria and the Newburgh Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Roberta (nee Barto), daughter, Julie (George) Mann of Naperville, Illinois, grandson, George IV (Amber) Mann of Naperville, nephew, Frank (Sue Ellen) Kern of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Jr., brother, Jerry Kern, parents, Frank and Lucille Kern.
There will be a celebration of life, 11 am Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Pioneer Ridge Lodge, 9479 Sawmill Trace Rd. North Ridgeville. Pastor Bill Falk will officiate.
A private burial will be at Whitehaven Cemetery.
