Donald G. Johnson's Obituary
Donald G. Johnson, age 69, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at his home, following a long illness.
He was born in Elyria and had been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville. He was a 1964 graduate of North Ridgeville High School.
Donald served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He was the grounds keeper for BF Goodrich in Avon Lake for over 40 years, retiring in 2010. He also owned a lawnmower repair business.
He was a member of VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed working on the family farm, fishing, being outside, camping, gardening and listening to country music.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Gloria Jean (nee Wilson); daughter, Kelly Johnson of Elyria; son, James M. (Shawna) of Elyria; cherished dog, Max; brother, Robert (Gayle) Johnson of Michigan; sister, Marion (Bill) Wishart of New York; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Jim and Judy Leffingwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Ruth (nee Siggelkow) Johnson.
Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
Burial with Full Military Honors by V.F.W. Post 9871 will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
