Donald E. Frank's Obituary
Donald E. Frank, age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on July 13, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.
He was born on February 19, 1931 in Elyria and has been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville. Don and his wife Janet owned and operated the Don Frank’s Greenhouse from 1959-1988 and drove the school bus for the North Ridgeville City Schools during the 60’s. He built the dunk tank for the North Ridgeville band boosters and helped operate it for many years, and was a member of St. Peter Church.
Donald was an avid sports fan, and during the summer months enjoyed farming. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, but his greatest happiness was found in spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet (nee Clement); sons Michael and Robert (Donna) Frank, both of North Ridgeville; son in law Eric (Terry) Buterbaugh of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Erin (Jono) Yasutake of Parma Heights, Angela Buterbaugh of French Lick, IN, Robert Frank II of North Ridgeville and Shelbea Frank of North Ridgeville.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Buterbaugh; parents Adolph and Gertrude (nee Smith) Frank.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday at 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service preceding a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Rev. Andrew Hoover will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
Family requests donations be made St. Peter School or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
