Hello, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. I did not know him, but I was an elementary (Madison) school friend of your mother. We were close friends when we went to school in Grindstone. When she relocated we lost track of each other. I did not know that she had passed away until I read the obituary for your father. Sounds like your family had a wonderful life with your parents. My deepest sympathy to each of you.
Donnie, Lisa, Lori, Lana & Families,
I am so sad to read about your dad‘s passing. I first met your dad when you kids were in marching band along with our kids. Him and your mom were such a pleasure to always be around, it was a constant fun fest, laughing, and giggling, Then I discovered that your dad was a mailman when I passed him for the first time in my school bus in Westlake. Well, from then on, it was always a hoot when we would pass each other daily! Everyone on his mail route just loved him. They were always happy to see him coming because they knew they were in for a real fun time with this barrel of jokes mailman! He (& your mom) were very special people. Now, they are together again!

Mr. Schiffbauer came into our shop a few years back with his son. The first time we met, I know he had character. Several more visits and conversation upon conversation were intriguing and informative. It was an honor to get to know him for the short time I did. We had many things in common and he reminded me of my on father who loved to talk about his family. God's peace and guidance be upon the Schiffbauer family now and forever.
I was also a carrier and worked with him. After our completed routes, he and I would talk for hours. He was amazing talker. I always suggested that he should have his own talk show. He also had an amazing sense of humor just how he presented himself. When his wife was going to be a nurse, she let him shave off his beard. I never met his family but he always talked his wife and kids in a proud and loving way. I only saw him once since his retirement and surpriseingly it was at a Crushers game where he worked. I’ll miss “Shiffty”, he was definitely an original.
