Donald DJ E. Hopkins' Obituary
Donald E. “DJ” Hopkins Jr., age 41, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.
He was born in Medina and grew up in Burbank, Ohio. He had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 9 years moving from Parma.
Donald worked as a CNC Machine Operator for Woodpeckers in Strongsville for the past 11 years. He previously worked at Pilot Truck Stop and Royal Cabinet and Design.
He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed going to Cedar Point with his family, working on cars and going to drag car races with his Dad. He loved being involved with his kids and family, cooking and smoking meats and entertaining friends. He was always the guy you could count on if anyone needed help and he loved his fur babies.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle (nee Michnicki), son, Donald E. Hopkins III, daughter, Sophia Rose Hopkins, parents, Donald Sr. and Becky Hopkins of Mansfield, sister, Angela Hopkins of Mansfield, father-in-law, Joseph Michnicki Sr., mother-in-law, Judith Michnicki, brothers-in-law, Joseph (Rachel) Michnicki Jr., Kevin (Betsy) Michnicki, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Friends may call Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Avon.
