Donald Banig's Obituary
Donald W. Banig, age 79, passed away at Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville on October 20, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on September 13, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio and has lived in North Ridgeville for 40 years, moving from Cleveland.
Donald worked as a forklift operator for Goodyear Tire and Rubber before retiring in 1995, after 38 years of service.
He found enjoyment in woodcraft, working around his yard and camping. He was also a Boy Scout leader and belonged to the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (nee Morris); sons Terry (Sally) Banig of St. Louis, MO and David (Lynda) Banig of Medina; grandson David of Medina; brother Tom (Sandra) Banig of Middleburg Heights; dear friend David Morrison of North Ridgeville, who has helped the family greatly throughout. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald E. and Wilma (nee Duvall) Banig.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. Services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Bob Sanson will officiate.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bayview Hospice, 38600 Center Ridge Rd., Ste. 2201, North Ridgeville 44039.
