Dolores A. Szoly's Obituary
Dolores A. Szoly, (nee Fedor) age 91, of Strongsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at O’Neill Healthcare in Bay Village.
She was born in German, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Strongsville and Cleveland areas for the past 62 years.
Dolores worked for the US Postal Service in Pennsylvania prior to her time at Sears as a store manager secretary, retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed volunteering at Southwest General Hospital and for Ohio Greyhound Placement Inc. She was a 29-year breast cancer survivor and was involved for many years with the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
She was an artist who admired Bob Ross, whom she had the chance to meet while taking a class in Florida. She was an animal lover and kind and gentle soul who was non-judgmental and humble. A great baker who made the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. They were so good, her grandson sold them to his classmates when he was in the 3rd grade. She was voted the most shy in high school.
Dolores participated in many prayer groups and was a devout Catholic.
Survivors include her son, Michael Kovach of Berea, daughter, Leah (Robert) Karaba of North Ridgeville, grandchildren, Eric, Alex and Sonya, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her friend and first husband, Michael Kovach, second husband, John Szoly, siblings, Eugene (Ann) Fedor, Joseph (Sylvia) Robert (Nina) Fedor, Rose Marie Solomon, William Fedor, Geraldine Fedor, parents Joseph and Rose Fedor.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where there will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 9:30AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Fr. Isidore Munishi will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
