Diane C. Spuhler's Obituary
Diane C. Spuhler (nee Ruhlman), age 79, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on
Monday, October 6, 2025. She was born on November 27, 1945 in Cleveland, and lived
in Englewood for over 20 years. She maintained a summer cottage in Port Clinton,
Ohio. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Florida.
Diane loved being out in the sunshine, and the summer months would often find her
boating, kayaking, swimming or fishing. In the winter, she would turn to the ski slopes.
She always loved the next adventure and would find that in the extensive traveling she
did. Diane had an infectious laugh, was always there to lend a helping hand to anybody
who needed it, and was well loved by all. Above all, her faith was paramount.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila (Neil) Whitford; son Ron (Heather) Spuhler;
grandchildren Alyssa (Chad Thiemann) Whitford, Gavin Whitford, Daniel Whitford, Ryan
(Sophia DiPuccio) Whitford, Keegan Whitford, Jacob Spuhler and Brandon Spuhler;
sister Judy (Bill) Metzger; sisters-in-law Jackie (Wayne, deceased) Ruhlman; Peggy
(Doug, deceased) Fairbairn, Linda (Jim, deceased) Spuhler; brother-in-law Mike (Sandi)
Spuhler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron Spuhler, parents Marcella (nee Eifel)
and Leslie Ruhlman, and brother Wayne Ruhlman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, October 17 at 11:00 am at St.
Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012, where family will receive
friends from 9:30-10:45am. Private inurnment will be with her
husband in St. Peter Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
