Dennis D. DeAngelis' Obituary
Dennis D. DeAngelis, age 71, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 11, 1945, in Cecil, Pennsylvania, the son of Martin and Pauline (nee Tomikel).
Dennis served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-69, at which time he returned to his job at Kennametal, Inc. He served as a quality control inspector for 44 years, prior to his 2010 retirement. After retiring, he took what he called the best job he ever had, as a course ranger at Mallard Creek Golf Course, while also serving his community by volunteering with Meals on Wheels.
An avid sportsman, he loved to play golf and softball. After his playing days had ended, he served as an American Softball Association umpire for many years. However, his true passion was for his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers, which he enthusiastically passed on to his sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by Charlotte (nee Leasure), his loving wife of more than 51 years, and his sons, Clinton and Bradley of North Ridgeville; his brother Donald of Canonsburg, PA, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Bay Presbyterian Church, 25415 Lake Road, Bay Village. Rev. Tom Madden will officiate.
Burial will be on Monday, January 23, 2016 at 10:30AM in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
