Dennis J. Boose's Obituary
Dennis J. Boose, age 67, of North Ridgeville passed away Wednesday August 23, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic, Avon.
He was born in Norwalk, grew up in Milan and had been a resident of N. Ridgeville since 1991. He previously lived in Shaker Hts., Ashland and Toledo.
Dennis worked as the Vice President in Business Banking at Dollar Bank until recently retiring.
As an active resident of North Ridgeville, Dennis was involved with many community organizations such as being a Board Member and President of the former Junior Achievement of Lorain County, N. Ridgeville Baseball/Softball Boosters and City Baseball/Softball program. He was President and Coach of several City Baseball leagues and coached for the soccer league. He was a referee in the National Amateur Soccer Association, former Official Umpire with the Ohio Hot Stove Baseball League and National Softball Association. He was a former Pack Leader of N. Ridgeville Cub Scout Packs 100 and 153 and was a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Consultant for several Cub Scout Packs. He was a former member and President of the Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System and was a Commission Member and former President of the North Ridgeville Parks and Rec Department both prior to and after becoming a member of City Council. He was on the Board of Developmental Disabilities, Board Member of Jr. Achievement and Big Brothers in Ashland County. Currently Dennis was a 24-year member and former President of the North Ridgeville Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, the North Ridgeville Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award and was the Co-Chair of the Memorial Day Parade and the 28th Annual Lions Club 5k Run.
Dennis was a very faith filled person, being an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Reader and was currently a member and officer of the Knights of Columbus Council 7970 and the Knights of Columbus Council Assembly 3019. He also was active in the Cursillo movement.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lisa (nee Ramian), daughter, Kathryn (Justin) Rogerson of North Ridgeville, Son, Nicholas Boose of North Ridgeville, grandchildren, Tyler Aliff, Lillian Boose, Liam Rogerson and Milena Rogerson, sisters, Linda (Rex) Dunn of Sandusky, Kathy (Patrick) McVey of Roaming Shores, Diane (Dave) Moyer of Norwalk, Donna (Richard) Marett of Las Vegas, NV, Traci (Todd) Sebolt of Milan, brothers, Craig (Karen) Boose of Collins, Brian (Sharon) Boose of Newnan, Georgia and Kenneth (Brenda) Boose of Norwalk, parents, James and Mary Generose Boose of Norwalk.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where the Knights of Columbus will lead a Rosary at 7:30 PM. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery.
