Delbert R. Fitzwater, Sr.'s Obituary
Delbert Ray Fitzwater Sr., 76, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain.
He was born in Lesley, West Virginia and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake since 1995, moving from Cleveland.
He worked as a supervisor for Alcoa Aluminum, retiring in 1996 after 35 years.
Delbert was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1744.
He enjoyed music and played in a band “The Harrison Five Plus Irene” for 30 years. He loved woodworking and cabinet making.
Survivors include his sons, Ron (Kim) Birchfield, Ray (Cathy) Fitzwater and Brian (Stacey) Fitzwater all of Sheffield Lake; daughters, Teri Smith (James Lowther) of Sheffield Lake, Cyndie (Steve) Vitko of Medina; grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Dodson and Nathan Birchfield, Matthew and Tyler Smith, Victoria, Rebecca, Andrew and Abigail Vitko; great-granddaughter, Hannah Dodson; sisters, Ruth Meadows of West Virginia, Barbara Rabiola of Chicago; brothers, Ernest and Joe of West Virginia, Roger of Pennsylvania.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mae; brothers, Paul, Jesse and Arthur; sisters, Anna Mae and Shelby; parents Albert and Rosel Fitzwater.
Visitations Sunday 2-6PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Burial will be in Greenbriar Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV.
