David D. "Ike" Wodzisz's Obituary
David D. “Ike” Wodzisz, age 71, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born on March 1, 1953 in Cleveland, where he has been a lifelong resident. Ike owned his own contracting company, retiring last year. Ike was a very talented craftsman, and truly loved his work. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling. In his life, family came first, and his most cherished times were spent with them.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda (nee Foster); sons Gary (Denise) Foster of North Olmsted, Dwight (Debra) Wodzisz of North Ridgeville; daughter Deana (Jason) Rigo of North Olmsted; Poppy to Robert, Shelby, Tyler (Sierra), Brandon (Sophie), Sara, Kadyn (Steven), Abrien, Jaena, Madalyn, Jason and Lucas; great Poppy to Emily; siblings Gerald Wodzisz, Bernard (Olga) Wodzisz, Lavern Gay, Dolores Cass, Innocent (Karen) Wodzisz; sister-in-law Annette Wodzisz; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ike was preceded in death by his parents Helen (nee Dzik) and John Wodzisz; siblings John (Iva) Wodzisz, Roberta (Joe) Virzi, Frank (Janet) Wodzisz, Joseph Wodzisz and Teofilia (James) Pettit; sister-in-law Rosalea Wodzisz; brother-in-law Joseph Cass.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, on Sunday, May 19 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A celebration of Ike’s life will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Jason Rigo will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
