David Watts,'s Obituary
David Marshall Watts, Sr., 68, of Elyria, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his home; following a long illness.
He was born August 19, 1938 in Logan, WV and had been a resident of Elyria the past 47 years.
He worked for Ford Motor Co., Brookpark for 35 years as a material handler, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Watts was a member of the UAW Local # 1250.
He enjoyed all sports; especially NASCAR and old cars. He attended many races at Lorain County Speedway and Sandusky Speedway. He was known around the race track as "Candy".
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Diane (nee Patterson) Watts; son, David M. Watts, Jr., of Carsile Township; daughter, Sherry (Todd) Hyder, of Elyria; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley Mitchell, of Wayne , WV, Debbie Midkiff, of Huntington, WV and Sherri Blake, of Monroe, OH; brothers, Larry, Boyd and Floyd Watts, all of Wayne , WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Watts; mother Marie "Tootsie" Spencer (nee Harper) and step-father, Chester Spencer.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Faith Baptist Temple, 34361 Lorain Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Ray Carpenter, will officiate. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
