David E. Munger's Obituary
David E. Munger, age 56, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 31, 1967 in Lorain and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 16 years, moving from North Carolina and North Ridgeville. David was a 1985 graduate of North Ridgeville High School and went on to earn his master’s degree from Regis University in Colorado. He worked as the commercial operations manager and safety director for the R.W. Beckett Corporation in North Ridgeville were he felt extremely cared for and loved. He obtained his Ordained Bishop License with the Church of God and was an active member of the Sheffield Church of God, where he was the Praise and Worship and Administrative Pastor. He loved to serve the church and through the years mentored many youth. David earned his Eagle Scout rank through Boy Scout Troop 175 in North Ridgeville and was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 111 in North Eaton. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors and camping. David also played the guitar, wrote songs and was a published author of a science fiction book. David was also an avid Cleveland sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carrie (nee Kradlak); son Josiah Munger of Elyria; parents Earl and Judith (nee Becker) Munger of Berlin Heights; sisters Kim (Kevin) McGuinn of Vermilion and Cindy Munger of Berlin Heights; twin brother Jeff (Nancy) Munger of Wellington; brother-in-law Dave (Amy) Kradlak of Monroeville; sister-in-law Michelle (Frank) Riba of Elyria; nieces and nephews Eric and Ryan McGuinn, Adelynn, Emily and Nathaniel Kradlak, and Gabriella Riba.
Funeral Service Friday, February 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Scott Skeens and Rev. Adam Bellamy will co-officiate. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made out to the family.
