David R. Markley's Obituary
David R. Markley, age 65, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Lorain following a sudden illness.
He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for most of his life before moving to Lorain.
David enjoyed reading, sports, playing Chess, working out and doing yard work. He was a 1992 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College. He was a student of God's Word and enjoyed serving others at places like Graces' Kitchen in Vermilion and his home church, Open Door Lorain. At church David was a devoted servant of Jesus through the prayer team, Men's ministry, Men's Study at Silver Maple's Sober living house and Kids ministry. His kind and compassionate spirit, heart-felt and honest prayers, servant's heart, deep and thoughtful Biblical observations and warm smile will be greatly missed around the Lorain Campus.
Survivors include his sister, Janet Markley Jobes (Willard) of Claysville, Pennsylvania, 3 nephews, 1 neice, 7 great-nephews and nieces, 1 great-great nephew and good friend Pastor Jason Russ.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Donald, parents, Arthur and Caroline Mahan Markley.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 18, 5pm at Open Door Lorain (1121 Tower Blvd. Lorain, OH 44052). Graveside and burial will be Monday, September 19, 11am at Fields Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
