David James' Obituary
David C. James, age 67, of North Ridgeville, died Friday evening at Harborside Health Care Center, Westlake following a long illness.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville this past year; having moved from LaGrange. He also had lived in Avon Lake.
He served in the US Navy.
He was a painter for the Cleveland School Board for 27 years and retired in 1995.
Mr. James was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Valley City.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, boating and woodworking.
He was a member of the Elyria VFW 1079 and the North Ridgeville VFW 9871; a member of the Elyria Moose 778 and the Painters Union Local 765 Cleveland.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa James, of Medina and Sandra James, of Lakewood; sons, Thomas James, of Avon Lake and Robert James, of Huntington Township; granchildren, 9; great-grandchild,1.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol L. (nee Kordish) in 1997;a grandson, Mathew Muenzenmayer (1985); and his parents, Alice (nee Geiger) and Chester H. James.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where prayers will be said at 9:30 AM on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church,35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Thomas Dunphy, pastor of St. Martin of Tours Church, Valley City, OH will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
