Darlene Marie Houck's Obituary
Darlene Marie Houck (née Carpenter), age 76, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 18, 1949, in Cleveland, and has been a resident of Elyria since 1968, moving from Lakewood.
Darlene was happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and cherished animals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed many different genres of music. The summer months would find Darlene tending her flowers.
Darlene is survived by her children Nikki May Houck of Elyria, Jaime Leigh Houck of Elyria, Brandon Everett (Stephanie) Houck of Elyria, Kristen Marie (April) Houck of Lorain and Sandra Jean (Kenneth) Houck-Waldron of Elyria; grandchildren Emilie (Joshua) Butler, Zachary Taylor, MacKenzie Taylor, Miranda Tomblin, Brenna Taylor, Devon Taylor, Everett and River Houck; great grandchildren Jinora, Cirilla and Isaiah Butler; brother James (Linda) Carpenter; sister Sharon (James) Westover; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Houck; parents Rose Marie (née Porcello) and James Carpenter; brothers Jerry and Rory Carpenter.
Funeral service Friday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Private inurnment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
