Clifford Smith's Obituary
Clifford M. Smith, age 79, of North Ridgeville, died Monday at Saint John Westshore Hospital, Westlake; following a brief illness.
He was born in Westlake (Dover), OH and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1965 moving from Bay Village.
He served with the United States Navy during WW II.
He was a member of Saint Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville.
Mr. Smith worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1986.
He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch # 40.
He enjoyed the Indians, Browns and Cavs. He also liked to golf, bowl and play horseshoes.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Terese (nee Gillespie) Smith; son Jeff (Pat) Smith, of Alpharetta, GA; daughters, Linda (Ronald) Slone, of Franklin, OH, Amy (Tom) Hutchings, of North Ridgeville and Laura Smith, of Oberlin; grandsons, Matthew and Marc Slone and granddaughter, Beckie Hutchings; brother Jack Smith. of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Edith M.(nee Vogt) Smith; sisters, Ruby Linden, Violet Wilson, Ethel Voik, Beatrice Smith, Grace Moorman, Luella Coffin and Geraldine Balcerzak.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where prayer will be said at 9:30 AM on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Saint Peter Catholic Church , 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
