Clifford Dreger's Obituary
Clifford H. Dreger, 68 of North Ridgeville passed away April 9, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospice in Lorain following a long illness.
Clifford owned and operated G.J. Dreger and sons greenhouse with his father until 1974. He was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School's Class of 1956, where he was voted as the most athletic in his class. He then graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in 1958 with an associate's degree in engineering. He was also in the Army Corps of Engineers Reserves from 1958-1962.
Mr. Dreger worked as a boiler operator at the GM plant in Lordstown for 30 years, retiring in February of 2005.
Clifford was a participant in numerous sports and had been a soccer coach at North Ridgeville Amature Soccer Leage. He was also a master gardener and avid hunter who loved his hunting dogs. He was an active member and former Deacon of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville, a boy scout leader and Merit Badge counselor, and a member of the Knights of Pythias in North Jackson, OH.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Mary (nee Brown); two sons, Dan of North Ridgeville, and Duane of Boston, Massachusettes; a daughter Diane Badgett (Steve) of Berlin Center, OH; his mother Elsie of North Ridgeville; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Zachary; one step-grandchild, Jarrod; and two sisters, Marlene Stephenson of North Ridgeville and Bev Hartle of Tucker, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman.
Friends will be received at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM where services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday. Rev David Connor of First Congregational United Church Of Christ will officiate. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon.
