Christine M. Schmidt's Obituary
Christine M. Schmidt (nee Koelewyn), age 81, of North Ridgeville passed away Sunday July 6, 2025, at O’Neil Health Care, North Ridgeville.
Born in Cleveland, she had resided in North Ridgeville for the past 13 years. She had previously lived in Downers Grove, IL for 47 years.
Her first job was as a teaching assistant at the school where our sons attended.
Christine was an Executive Secretary at the National College of Chiropractic for many years.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Westlake where she volunteered as the Librarian and truly enjoyed reading to the fourth-grade students.
Christine enjoyed everything that went along with making her house a home, reading and knitting prayer shawls for the church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Jim, sons Kevin (Pamela) Schmidt of Las Vegas, Michael (Nicole) Schmidt of Darien, IL, many grandchildren and her sister, Grace Koelewyn of Joliet, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth (nee Leonard) Koelewyn.
Friends may call Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:15AM until the time of Memorial Service at 11 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Westlake. Rev. David Buegler will officiate.
