Christine Phillips' Obituary
Christine Phillips (nee Hurst), age 79, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the University Hospital Elyria Medical Center.
She was born on December 21, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Oberlin and lived in North Ridgeville most of her life until moving to Elyria in 2006. She worked for Lake Erie Plastics as an assembler and at Musials Greenhouse for many years. Christine was a former member of Sugar Ridge Baptist Church in North Ridgeville and attended the College Heights Baptist Church in Elyria.
In her free time, Christine enjoyed sewing, taking care of her house plants and playing bingo.
She is survived by her sons Lester Jr. Phillips of Elyria and Forrest Raymond (Bonnie) Phillips of Elyria; daughters Edna Josephine Phillips of Elyria and Mary Louise (Michael) Finlay of North Ridgeville; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; many nieces and nephews.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband Lester Phillips Sr.; parents Forrest Raymond and Josephine Edna (nee Busch) Hurst; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Bill Shomo will officiate. Interment will be in Ridgeville Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
