Christel Mary Coker's Obituary
Christel Mary Coker (nee Moeritz) age 80, of Grafton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 22 at the Westlake Village Nursing Home in Westlake.
She was born on January 2, 1943 in Germany and has been a resident of Grafton for the past 7 years, moving from Leesville, South Carolina. Christel worked as a sales associate in an optometry office for many years.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time in her garden and fishing, but found her greatest joy in spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Colleen (Dan) Stein, Michelle (Kevin) Allen, Ingrid (Dave) Craig, Ivan Konic, Melissa (Wes Bruner) Hallbick, Doug (Jan Roberts) Coker and Monika Budinger; grandchildren Matthew, Benjamin, Page, Christopher, Maxamillion, Scott, Nicole, Kevin, Shawn, Anthony, Kyle, Jordon, Morgan, Mariah and Meagan; many great grandchildren; sister Ingrid Roark; many nieces and nephews.
Christel was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Coker; parents Hans and Frances (nee Kittstein); brother Rheinhard “Rocky” Moeritz.
A celebration of Christel’s life will be held on Sunday, November 26, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at V.F.W. Post 3341, 783 Huron Street, Grafton, Ohio 44044.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Christel’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
