Charles E. "Chuck" Johnson Sr. "Pap"'s Obituary
Charles E. “Chuck” Johnson Sr. “Pap”, age 80, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home on June 20, 2015.
He was born on December 20, 1934 in Green County, PA and has lived in North Ridgeville for the past 53 years. He was an automotive worker at General Motors, retiring in 1989 and worked as a mechanic at the Lake Ridge Academy for many years.
Chuck was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9871 Men's Auxiliary in North Ridgeville and the Eagles Club.
Chuck was the consummate, fun loving gentleman, who always had a smile on his face and was ever willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or neighbor. Family came first, and he cared for and lived with his disabled brother Lewis for many years. He loved his grandchildren, fishing with them often and never missed one of their sporting events. The summer months would find him working in his garden, and in his spare time, he enjoyed singing and dancing.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia (nee Cockrell); sons Ralph, Charles E. Jr. (Grace) and Robert (Janice) Johnson, all of Grafton; grandchildren Rachel Britt, Amanda Corsino, Tyler and Chase Johnson and Jackie Pettry ; great grandchildren Isabella Johnson, Brandon and Lana Hovanitz, Raizo Corsino and Caiden Randolph; sister Rhea (John) Yardley; brother James (Joyce) Johnson; uncle of many.
Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife, Olive; grandson Josh Johnson; parents Elliot and Mildred (nee Gough) Johnson; brothers William and Lewis Johnson; brother- in-law Edward Brajdic.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Charles Butcher will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
