Charles S. "Chuck" Docs' Obituary
Charles S. “Chuck” Docs, age 83, of Avon, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.
He was born and raised in Lorain and had been a resident of Avon since 1952.
Chuck served in the US Navy from 1957-1959.
He worked in marketing for Ohio Edison, retiring in 1999 after 47 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon.
He was past president of the Avon Lions Club. He enjoyed playing the saxophone with his friends in several bands. He loved to golf and played in the St. Mary’s Golf League, where they played at Bob-o-Links golf course.
Survivors include his daughters, Cindy (David) Ferrebee of Elyria, Cheryl Holowecky of North Ridgeville; son, Chuck (Judie) Docs of Avon; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Docs of Naples, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee Berchak); brother, Steve Docs; parents, Steve and Margaret Docs.
Friends may call Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2680 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon. Rev. Tom Cleaton, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
