Charles Davis' Obituary
Charles A. Davis, 80, of Parma, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Pocahontas, VA. He had lived in Parma the past 20 years; having moved from Cleveland.
Mr. Davis served in the US Navy during WWII.
He was a member of the Parma Pentecostal Church.
He worked 28 years as a Grinder at the Brost Foundry in Cleveland. He retired in 1987. Earlier in life he had worked in the coal mines of Virginia. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Surviving are his daughters, Linda Shultz, of Parma and Nancy Johnson, of Sevierville, TN; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Akers, of Bluefield, VA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline (1977); daughter, Conney Kelley (2001); parents, Charles and Ida (nee Sawyers) Davis; brothers, John H and William F. Davis; and his sister Thelma Fields.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 PM, Monday, June 12th at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday. Rev. Dan Deaton, Pastor of Parma Pentecostal Church and Bill Uldrich will officiate. Interment will follow at Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville where the Elyria VFW Post 1079 will conduct military honors.
