Charles F. "Fred" Callicoat's Obituary
Charles F. “Fred” Callicoat, age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home on August 6, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 4, 1937 in Willowood, Ohio and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 40 years, moving from North Olmsted.
Fred was self-employed and worked as a scrap recycler. He was also a member of the Moose Club, and enjoyed spending time there.
Fred never knew a stranger, and friends and neighbors could often be found having coffee with he and his wife Phoebe on their front porch, sharing stories. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved driving in his convertible, riding his motorcycle, and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phoebe Marie (nee Miller) Callicoat; son George Franklin Callicoat of Elyria; daughters Martha Kathleen Callicoat of Lorain and Angel Renea Callicoat of Cleveland; grandchildren Nannette Tagtmeyer, George Callicoat Jr. and Charles Callicoat; 5 great grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Ogle and Nannette (nee Minor) Callicoat; brothers George Preston and Roger Lee Callicoat; sister Beulah May Ferris.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Sunday 2-5 p.m. Funeral Services Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral Home. Rev. Earl Coleman will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
