Charles Baumgartner's Obituary
Charles A. Baumgartner, 75 of North Ridgeville passed away Monday, August 02, 2010 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born October 1, 1934 in Cleveland, OH and had resided in North Ridgeville for the past 19 years moving from Lakewood, OH. He worked as a Civil Engineer for H.N.T.B. Co., Cleveland and was Head Designer of their Bridge Division. Charles designed many bridges in Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan. He was involved in the design of many bridges in the Greater Cleveland area, notably rehabilitation of the Detroit Superior Bridge and design of the I-480 Valley View Bridge. He and his wife enjoyed travel. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Avon. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Roberta (nee Black), sons, Mark (Lisa) Baumgartner of Bay Village, Matthew (Mona) Baumgartner of North Olmsted and Marshall (Billinda) Baumgartner of Grafton, 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Meredith, Matthew, Brent, Kyler, Hannah, Kile, Elizabeth, Garrett and Kiersten. He was preceded in death by his mother, Weoma (Lawrence) Baumgartner and by brothers, Robert and Richard Baumgartner. Friends will be received from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. Wednesday August 4, 2010 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Dr., Avon, OH 44011. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. David Woolsey, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery, Cleveland. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Leukemia Society 23297 Commerce Park Beachwood, OH 44122.
