Charles Basham's Obituary
Charles Odle Basham, age 76, of Elyria, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010 at home surrounded by family.
Born in Basin, West Virginia, he was a resident of Elyria Township since 1981, moving from Columbia Station where he had lived for 17 years and Cleveland prior to that. Charlie retired from the GM Fisher Guide Plant, Elyria in 1989, after 25 years of service. Since his retirement he has enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 780, Loyal Order of the Moose 778 and the Eagles Club in Elyria.
Survivors include his daughters, Ella (Julio) Rondon of Miami, Florida, Delsie Basham of Elyria and Amy (Nick) Krulock of Lorain, Judy Williams of Coeburn, Virginia, son, Charles Owen (Kelly) Basham of Columbia Station, fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters, Verlie Mae Dickens of North Ridgeville, Recie Arlene Hill of Tennessee, and Janet Blevins of Odd, West Virgina, and brothers, Okley of Frentess, Texas, Delmer of Odd, West Virginia and Carlos of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, parents, James and Delcie (nee Shewsberry), and brothers, James, Arlie, Henry, Darrell and Alvin.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 13, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Reverend Charles A. Keesee, Pastor of the Midway Baptist Church, Elyria will officiate. Interment to follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
