Cecil Carpenter's Obituary
Cecil F. Carpenter, age 75, of Elyria died Sunday at EMH Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Duffy, West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 45 years.
He worked as a punch press operator for General Motors Chevy Plant in Parma for 34 years retiring in 1987.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 778, Elyria, Eagles Club Elyria; a social member of Am Vets Post 32, Elyria and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 1079 Elyria.
He enjoyed visiting with his friends and was an avid Nascar and baseball fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Perrine of Columbia Station; 2 sons, James F. of Florida, Ronald of Inwood, West Virginia; 3 stepdaughters, Patricia Johnson of Harvest, Alabama, Mary Baker and Frances Walker both of Grafton; stepson Danny Martin of Pinellas Park, Florida; 4 brothers, Morris Carpenter of Baltimore, Maryland, Kenneth Carpenter of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Ernest and Arnold Carpenter both of Weston, West Virginia; sister Mabel Mishler of Fairfax, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal (nee Caynor) and Russell Carpenter.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Friends may also call Wednesday from 6-8PM at Alkire Funeral Home, Ireland, West Virginia where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM. Burial will be in McCutchan Cemetery in Ireland, West Virginia.
