Catherine Stephens' Obituary
Catherine V. Stephens (nee Luecking), age 102, of Elyria, died Saturday evening at Westlake Healthcare Center following a long illness.
She was born in Connellsville, PA. She had been a resident of Westlake the past 3 years moving from North Ridgeville where she had lived for 2 years. She previously lived in Elyria for over 60 years.
Mrs. Stephens was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elyria and a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Air Force Mothers. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, for which she had won several awards.
She retired from J + B Discount Store in Elyria in 1975. She previously worked at Seghy Nut Shop, also in Elyria.
She is survived by her son, Mel Licking of North Ridgeville, two Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Stephens, one sister, Clementin Ranker and one brother, Anthony Luecking.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. A Prayer service will be held 9:00 AM Wednesday in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
