Catherine R Pszenitzki's Obituary
Catherine R. Pszenitzki (nee Monteleone), age 97, of Elyria passed away Sunday October 3, 2021 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. She was born in Nanty Glo, PA and was a resident of Elyria since 2003 moving from Debary, Florida. She worked as a toll collector for the Ohio Turnpike for 20 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Ways and Means Community of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She loved to travel and visited many areas. She was a prolific crocheter and gifted many of her afghans and slippers to friends and relatives. She was the family historian and helped all to remember the past through great stories. Having lived through the Great Depression, World War II and all that followed, she was very knowledgeable.
She is survived by her son Paul Hales of Elyria, step-sons Rory Pszenitzki of Reading, CT, Jon Pszenitzki of Berkley, CA, and Terry Pszenitzki of Orange County, FL, step-daughters Sherri Lawrence and Lisa Pszenitzki both of Orange County, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, 5 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, brother Joseph Monteleone of Elyria, sisters Rosalie Vitalia of Elyria, and Lucille Trott of Hudson, OH.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Hales, second husband Leo Pszenitzki, son Bruce Hales, brother Vincent Monteleone, sisters Mary Jane Ressler, Camille Moore, and Constance Monteleone, and parents Dominic and Lucy Monteleone.
Friends may call on Wednesday October 6th, 2021 at Bogner Family Funeral Home from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville. A funeral Mass will follow at 11am at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St, Elyria. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
