Carolyn Sue Cassity's Obituary
Carolyn Sue Cassity (nee Handley), age 82, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville. She was born on June 1st, 1942 to the late Harry and Virginia (nee McCallister) Handley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Eugene Cassity; brothers Denvil, Jack and Dick Handley; nephews Bobby Jr., Larry and Randy Handley. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved people and was fond of carrying on long conversations with friends and family, as well as going to watch Karaoke. She is survived by her sons Anthony (Sandy) Cassity and Patrick (Staci) Cassity; grandchildren Ashlee; Anthony Jr., Brittany, Kyle, Ryan and Stephen Cassity; seven great grandchildren with one on the way; sister Joyce Hayes; sister-in-law Helen Rayburn; nephews Harry Hayes, Michael Hayes and Richie Handley.
Carolyn will be interred with her husband Donald at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio 44273, on Thursday, May 29 at 1:45 p.m. (Please arrive at 1:30 and check lane designation at the front gate of the cemetery.)
