Carl Kennedy's Obituary
Carl Kennedy, age 90, of Sullivan, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 in New London.
He was born in Meador, West Virginia and had been a resident of Sullivan for 17 years.
He served in the US Army in the Philippines during WWII.
Carl worked in the West Virginia coal mines from 1942 until he entered the Army and returned to the coal mines in 1946 until 1957. He went on the work for Ford Motor Company for 30 years, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on old cars.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie (Gloria) Kennedy of New London, Stewart “Doug” (Wanda) Kennedy of North Ridgeville, Carl “Rick” Kennedy of Elyria; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Keesee of Mt. Orab and brother, Grover Kennedy Jr. of Suffolk, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Agnes (Jessie) Kennedy in 1997; parents, Grover and Mary (nee Murphy) Kennedy; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Lester McMahan will officiate.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
