Carl R. Jones' Obituary
Carl R Jones, age 67, of 240 West Muskingum Street, in Freeport, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Medina Hospice Care Center. He was born August 7, 1951 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga county, Ohio and has been a resident of Freeport for the past 39 years. He was a 1969 graduate of Olmsted Falls High School in Olmsted Falls, OH. Carl became employed in 2001 for the Labor’s Union Local #134 of Newcomerstown, where he worked in construction and retired in 2016 as vice president of the union. Carl was a member of the Ohio State Trappers Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Trappers Association, and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, making traps, gardening, and taking trips out west. He loved spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by his sons Eric (Jeanne) Whitsel of Brook Park, and Jonathon Jones of Freeport; 4 granddaughters Johanna, Emma, and Abby Whitsel, and Kortnie Madison; sister Deanna (Cecil) Kerley of Berea; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Doyle S. Jones and Bertha Presgraves (nee McVicker); and brother Doyle R Jones. Memorial Service will be Monday at 12:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will take place 1PM Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Cadiz Union Cemetery, Cadiz, Ohio. In Leu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in Carl's memory to the Ohio State Trappers Association P.O. Box 119 Radnor, Ohio 43066.
