Byron Mcknight's Obituary
Byron E. McKnight, age 80, of North Ridgeville passed away Saturday December 18, 2010 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a long illness.
He was born in Burnsville, WV and had resided in Cleveland for most of his life until moving to North Ridgeville 3 years ago.
Mr. McKnight was Vice President of Materials and Procurement for Apex International Alloys, Cleveland where he had worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a 50 year member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, Cleveland. He enjoyed gardening, reading poetry, and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dolores (nee Davis), daughters, Pamella (Tony) Kassner of Cincinnati, Carol (Woody Johnson) McKnight of Strongsville, grandchildren, Eric and Devon Kassner, and Lindsay Johnson, great granddaughter Aubree Kassner, brother William E. McKnight of Buckhannon, WV, several nieces and nephews and last but not least, his Fox Terrier, Mitzi Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Camp McKnight and Annabell Taylor.
Private services will take place at a later date.
