Brandon T. Weekley's Obituary
Brandon Tyler Weekley, age 31, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Brandon was born on May 2, 1993, in Lorain, Ohio to parents Todd and Lonnie (Dudding) Weekley and raised in Elyria, Ohio alongside his older brother, Nicholas.
While attending Elyria High School, Brandon played baseball and was a member of the marching band playing bass drum. After graduating in 2011, Brandon went to University of Toledo where he began his studies in the pharmacy program. Brandon received a doctorate of pharmacy degree in 2017.
While taking classes at University of Toledo, Brandon met Ava Carlson and the two became close friends and later, in 2015, started dating. They relocated to Ypsilanti, Michigan, where Brandon would begin his career as a pharmacist at Rite Aid of Adrian. In 2019, Brandon and Ava got married in Maumee, Ohio where they celebrated with their loved ones.
Brandon was easy-going and was so joyful to be around. He had an infectious laugh and smile that would light up a room. He was kind and caring and enjoyed getting to take care of his patients at work. He looked forward to game nights with family and friends and was always ready to begin a new board game or play cards. He loved competing with his friends and family in a game of cornhole, where he usually won. His passion for comics started at a young age and he continued to embrace his favorite characters into adulthood- especially the Barry Allen version of The Flash. He had an impressive collection of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards which he was very proud of. A lifelong movie fanatic, he looked forward to new Star Wars, Marvel, and DC movies and rewatched Jurassic Park numerous times. Brandon especially enjoyed spending time with his dog, playing frisbee and going on long walks.
Always ready to explore new things, Brandon loved to travel. Together, he and Ava explored several National Parks throughout the United States. He especially enjoyed exploring westward to various places in both Yosemite and Alaska. Most recently, they traveled to Iceland where he was eager to learn about the country, its volcanoes, and rugged terrain.
Brandon will be deeply missed by his wife, Ava Carlson Weekley; his parents, Todd and Lonnie Weekley; his brother, Nicholas (Amanda) Weekley; his nieces and nephews, Alolah, Lincoln, Jordan, and Everett Weekley; his maternal grandfather, Gene Dudding; his in-laws, Phil and Melinda Carlson; his three brothers-in-law, Evan (Andrea) Carlson, Erik Carlson, and Luke Carlson; and his rescue dog, Odie.
