Bradlee M. Cook's Obituary
Heaven gained one heck of an angel. Bradlee Cook of Fremont, Ohio gained his wings on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at UH Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, after a lengthy battle with heart disease. Brad was born on April 15, 1978 to Carl and Mary “Beve” Cook in Elyria, OH. He is survived by his parents, as well as sisters Jeana & Ivory Cook, his loving fiancé Ashley Reynolds, and children Haley Angelo, Noah Babcock, Gage Babcock, and Adyn Reynolds. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence & Louise Cook and Paul & Jean Stevens.
Brad was a lover of the Food Network, a die hard Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed talking “smack” on Facebook, and lovingly giving Ashley grief. Brad devoted much of his time to coaching little league sports and as a Scout leader for his boys, and spending time with his only daughter, Haley. To say he was a phenomenal father would be an understatement, and he was very active and dedicated as one.
Known as “Cook” to his best friends, Brad grew up in the Kipton area, and attended Firelands High school. He spent his youth with his lifelong best friends, Brad Wuitowicz, Chip (and wife Michelle) Livermore, and C.J.. The four of them remained close until the day he passed. He is remembered by them as a tried and true, steadfast friend who was always good for a laugh and up for anything. The void he leaves in their lives is significant.
Brad has spent the last 15 years with his best friend and love of his life, Ashley Reynolds. They have raised a beautiful family together, endured life’s storms, and celebrated its victories. The two shared a love of football, harboring a friendly rivalry between Brad’s beloved Cleveland Browns and Ashley’s Cincinnati Bengals. Ashley stood by his side through Brad’s heart transplant and recovery, and cared for him until he took his final breath.
Bradlee Cook was a simple, loving, and all around GOOD man. He leaves a legacy of faithfulness, the importance of family, unrelenting friendship, and the spirit of never giving up in his children, and all who loved him. The author A.A. Milne said it best when he wrote, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”.
Calling hours will be from 11am-noon on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at The Vermilion Church of the Nazarene (14907 Kneisel Rd. Vermilion, OH 44089). Service will begin at noon, directly followed by a Celebration of Life.
