Bobby E. Smith's Obituary
Bobby E. Smith, age 73, of North Ridgeville passed away Thursday June 19, 2014 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake, following a short illness
He was born in Stotesbury, WV. He grew up in West Virginia before moving to Lakewood, Ohio and then to North Ridgeville in 1975.
Mr. Smith served on the USS Hoist in the US Navy from 1959-1963. He was a member of the American Legion in North Ridgeville and the UAW Local 1005.
He was employed as a welder at the Chevy Parma Plant for 25 years retiring in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Swancie; his son Jeff (Karlene) of Hillsdale, MI; 3 grandchildren, Callene, Allonda and Levi Smith; brother Roger (Sue) Smith of Nashville; one niece and one nephew; brother –in-law, Andy Katona Jr. of Princeton, WV and sister-in-law, Connie (Bernie) Jenkins of Orlando, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Aretta Smith Jr. and sister Drema Katona.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1 PM until time of services at 2 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039. Rev. Michael Manosky will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
