Birdie Mcmillan's Obituary
Birdie E. McMillan (nee Blevins), age 80, of Elyria, passed away, Thursday, January 25th, 2007, at her home following a short illness.
Born in Fort Gay, West Virginia, she was a resident of Elyria since the 1960's and formerly of Eaton Twp.
Mrs. McMillan was a member of North Ridgeville Church of God, where she was active with the senior group and Ladies Club. She was the lead singer at the Sunday chapel services at Palm Crest Nursing Home in Elyria for 20 years. She enjoyed embroidering and quilting.
Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Pavlik of Elyria; sons, Curtis Gene McMillan and Jimmie Harold McMillan both of Elyria, Alvin H. McMillan Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Ray Blevins of Berea, Russell Blevins of Medina, Chester Blevins of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Elzie Blevins of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; sisters, Rene McMillan of Berea, Ethel Arptus of Medina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alvin McMillan Sr. in 1998;grandson, Robert Keith Woodards; parents Sam and Hazel Blevins; sisters, Barb Sysver, Ople Robertson; brothers, Frank and Robert and Jimmy Blevins.
Friends may call from 3-6PM Sunday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held 11:30 AM Monday at North Ridgeville Church of God, 6000 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Clifford Hughes of Sandy Valley Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
