Billy R. Holstein's Obituary
Billy R. Holstein, age 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the St. John Medical Center in Westlake after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 11, 1947 in Eunice, West Virginia and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 13 years, moving from Olmsted Falls. He was a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger and served in the Vietnam War, a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 9871 in North Ridgeville and went on to work as a millwright for Davies Can in Solon for many years. Bill enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns. He was a classic car enthusiast who was especially fond of Ford’s and served as the President of the Boulevard Knights Car Club. He loved building models, especially cars, and was known to enjoy the occasional cigar. Bill is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary; daughters Linda Mollay of Cleveland, Leslie (Jim Bowes) Holstein of Columbia Station and Christina (Ian) Haggerty of Cleveland; grandchildren Colton (Jess), Christopher, Rachel (Mike), Clarissa, Bobby, Pidge and Ian; great grandchildren Veralee and Elliott; nephew Joe Wittemer (Kim Benefield) ; niece Elizabeth Wittemer. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Marie (nee Stover) Holstein. Services for Bill will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made in Bill's name to V.F.W. 9871, 6805 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville 44039.
