I had the distinct opportunity of working with Mr. Kobel for a couple of years just before he retired from the Schuele Planetarium at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center in Bay Village.
He occasionally provided a striking presentation, for staff and friends only, that was a beautiful sort of photo vignette set to the song "What a Wonderful World." colorful photos swept by depicting everything from gorgeous flowers to stunning scenery to people holding hands or walking with an arm around a shoulder, and finallly, if memory serves, a photo of the planet earth.
It brought a tear to my eye it was so moving, and to this day when I hear that song, I think of Bill and his lovely tribute to our wonderful world.
Thank you for that memory, Bill. It is an everlasting treasure to me.
I can remember many moments with Mr. Kobel, he was never Bill to me, always Mr. Kobel, or Kathy's Dad. :) Whether it was living 2 doors down on Beeler, or me heading over to te Crossbrook home, I can remember many hours, days, and evenings spent at the Kobel household. I wish nothing but health and happiness for the Kobel family during this difficult time and am thinking of you all with love and prayers.

To Mrs. Kobel, Rob and the entire Kobel family, I'm sorry for your loss. I recall my/our high school days when I was a frequent visitor to the Kobel household in Longbrook and always welcomed with cheerful greetings and conversation with Mr. & Mrs. Koble. A home where the doors were open to all and friends were treated as family. A fond and good natured quote from Mr. Kobel was to say to Rob "Ford - Job 1" (Ford's advertising slogan in the mid 70's) anytime there was a slight problem with one of his Ford vehicles he owned as he gently tapped his elbow into my arm to imply, "look at Rob, I'll get him worked up" ! And then all three of us would break into laughter.
