Betty Jane Waltz's Obituary
Betty Jane Waltz (nee Lowery), age 91, of Elyria, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville after a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 19, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 62 years, moving from Spencer. Betty was a former member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Elyria.
She worked as a bank teller for Elyria Savings Trust, a retail clerk in lady’s apparel for the Winkelman and Lane Bryant department stores and went on to work for Lorain County Community Action, retiring in 1997.
Betty was an avid reader, and could often be found tending to her flower garden.
She is survived by her daughter Connie (Gary) Coffin of MN; son Robert (Marilyn) Waltz of Elyria; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Paul, Bryan Jr. “Budd” and Francis “Butch” Lowery; sisters Catherine Hall and Mary Lou Gates.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Bryan and Ida (nee Gaag) Lowery.
