Betty Catherine Petitt's Obituary
Betty Catherine Petitt (nee Andel), age 92 passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services, North Olmsted.
She was born on October 1, 1921 in Cleveland Ohio. With her husband, she ran Fred Petitt Machinery Company in Cleveland, North Ridgeville and Sullivan Ohio, as well as her own ceramic business specializing in lace dolls. In the early 70’s, she was instrumental in the installation of the North Ridgeville sign on the Ohio Turnpike. She loved to swim and was known for her “I Golf 9” license plate.
Betty is survived by her daughters Bettyann; Faye (Ernie) Krivda, Lorraine (Michael) Palazzolo; sons Fred and Perry Petitt; grandchildren Brett (Julie) Schwelgin, Angela Petitt-Taylor, Drue (Dan) Trick and Tara Petitt; great grandchildren Lily and Zachary Schwelgin, Orion and Nova Taylor and Amelie Trick; brother John (Marilyn) Andel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Fred; parents John and Bessie (nee Wildman) Andel; daughter-in-law Sue Petitt; many brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville on Thursday 4-8 p.m. Graveside Services Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland. Rev. Nancy Roth will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland 44119.
