Betty J. Bailey's Obituary
Betty J. Bailey, 86, of Lorain County, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. Born in Raleigh, West Virginia, on October 1, 1938, Betty made Lorain County her home in 1960 and became a beloved part of the community.
Betty was known for her warm heart, playful spirit, and boundless creativity. She was friendly, fiery, and full of life—a woman who could light up any room with her presence. Her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did. A talented cook, baker, seamstress, quilter, and crafter, Betty poured love and care into every meal, gift, and handmade treasure she shared.
Her deep faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of Christian Unity Church, she found joy in teaching Vacation Bible School and sharing the love of the Lord with others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Bailey; her daughter, Tammy Townsend; her sister, Brenda Gail; and her brother, Bobby Joe Hopkins.
Betty is survived by her children Mark (Lynette) Bailey, Paul (Doreen) Bailey, Patricia (Tim) Midkiff, and Becky (Jason) Keressi, as well as her son-in-law, Harry Townsend. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and were deeply loved.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Unity Church, 36353 Capel Road, Grafton, Ohio 44044, with a luncheon to follow.
Betty will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many.
