Bethel "Ray" Anderson's Obituary
Bethel “Ray” Anderson, age 79, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH surrounded by his family. He was born in Buffalo Valley, TN and had been a resident of Elyria for 64 years spending some time in FL. He worked as an electric motor mechanic for General Electric for many years before retiring in 1997. Ray was a member of The Masons and enjoyed watching the Browns, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary (nee Turner); children Rebecca (Joseph) Jeffries of Elyria, Steve (Marilyn) Anderson of Columbia Station; grandchildren Tabatha (Michael) Harris, Joshua (Rachael) Anderson, Kaylie (Travis) Sayers, Melissa (Ben) Jeffries; great grandchildren Mya Anderson, Jayden Anderson, Mason Sayers; many nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “DU”. He is preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Jewel Anderson; siblings Reba Hebble, Houston Anderson, Shirley Morris. Family will receive friends Sunday from 5-8pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral service 11 AM Monday in the funeral home. Pastor Adam Hall will officiate.
