Bernie Bacher's Obituary
Bernard R. "Bernie" Bacher, age 91, a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Center Ridge Health Center, North Ridgeville. Bernie was born June 10, 1921 in Cleveland to the late Ephron and Clara (nee Snyder) Bacher.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre, Bernie was a member of American Legion Post 30, Lorain. He retired from Central Exterminating in Lorain and was a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol auxiliary for 35 years. Bernie was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, and enjoyed camping, playing cards, visiting casinos and especially spending time with his family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered for his easy-going and friendly disposition and for his great sense of humor.
Bernie is survived by his children, Gary (Sandy) Bacher of North Ridgeville, Claire Fielding of Florida, John (Nancy) Bacher of Foxboro, Mass., Ann (Rick) Dennis of North Ridgeville and Paul (Sue) Bacher of Avon; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and sister, Vera (John) Huffman, North Ridgeville.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Regina (nee Stauder) Bacher; brothers, Robert and LeRoy Bacher; sister, Agnes Barnes; and granddaughter, Debbie Fielding.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday with prayers at 11:00 a.m. and advance to St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, for an 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
