Bernice Stiles' Obituary
Bernice Stiles, age 84, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Five Stars Adult Care Home, Avon Lake, following a short illness.
She was born in Cleveland, and had been a resident of Lorain County since 1946 moving from Cleveland.
Mrs. Stiles operated the Maple Manor gift shop on Main St. in Grafton during the 1990's, for several years.
She loved to crochet, making many beautiful pieces with her own unique designs.
She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, making crafts and always looked forward to family get- togethers.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace, in Grafton.
Survivors include her son, Clyde (Pat) Hignett Jr. of Ocala, Florida; stepdaughter, Patti Stiles of Schaumburg, Illinois; stepsons, Charles (Darlene) Stiles of Lagrange, James (Cheryl) Stiles of N. Fort Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Hignett (fiancee, Amy Porter), Michelle (Tom) Chassberger, Michael Hignett, Kristi (Darcy) Yonts and Brian Stiles; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Hanrahan of Grafton and brother, Jack LaDove of SanFrancisco, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1997 and parents, John and Caroline LaDove.
Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home,36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:15AM. A 10:00AM Mass will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Erie Ave., Grafton, where the Rev. John Seabold, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
