Bernice "June" Jones' Obituary
Bernice “June” Jones (nee Brown), age 87, of Elyria, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.
She was born in Grandview, Tennessee and had been a resident of Elyria since 1952.
Bernice worked in retail sales for many local stores.
She attended First Baptist Church in LaGrange and enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, puzzles, birdwatching, garage sales, traveling and spending time with her family. Her philosophies of life were “Trust God” “Do Good” and “Love Conquers All”.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth (Emil) Gemmel of Berlin Center; son, James “Marvin” (Lula) Jones of Sheffield Lake; daughter-in-law, Doreen Jones of Lorain; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Kincannon of LaGrange, and Joyce Newby of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billy Jones in 2008; son, Norman Jones in 1996; parents, Edgar Ross and Bonnie (nee Renfro) Brown; sisters, Mildred, Vivian, Shirley; brothers, Ray, Max, Dwight, Bob and Buster.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 10AM in the funeral home. Pastor Noel Hack will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
